Drive from your hotel to visit the Imperial Citadel, a UNESCO listed site. Enter through the towering main gate and you will be appreciated the magnificent architecture and gardens while your guide explains the events and the intrigue of the former royal court. Despite being bombed heavily, there are some incredibly well preserved sections still intact and others which are being lovingly restored. Continue to visit the serene Tu Duc Royal Tomb

Start early in the morning with a 2hours drive northwest of Saigon to the Cu Chi tunnels. The tunnel was started in 1948 to protect the Viet Cong guerrillas from the French air and ground sweeps. The tunnels also served as communication routes, storage facilities for food and weapon caches as well as hospitals and living quarters for guerrilla fighters throughout the American war. 

Depart Saigon and drive to Ben Tre province which situated in the Mekong River, Ben Tre is famous for tropical fruit gardens and traditional handicrafts made of coconuts. The first stop will be a brick kiln to see how the locals still use centuries-old traditional methods to make the bricks by hand. Continue your visit, board on your private boat and start cruising to a coconut workshop where you can learn about the multiple uses of coconut in the daily life.

This morning the driver will pick you up from your hotel at 7am, then drive you to the Mekong city of Cai Be. On arrival, you’ll transfer to the boat and cruise the Mekong River to Vinh Long. During the trip you’ll have a chance of witnessing the exotic bustling floating market, sample tropical fruits in a local orchard and visit family-run businesses such as coconut candy, pop-corn and rice-paper manufacturers.
